OK, GUYS! THE SPRING IS DONE, SUMMER HAS FINALLY SHOWED UP AND NOW THE ASSOCIATION IS HARD AT WORK PLANNING THE NEXT REUNION FOR NEXT JUNE, 2011 IN THE GROTON, CT. AREA.
THE REUNION DATES ARE JUNE 16, 17, 18, & 19, 2011
PUT THAT DATE ON YOUR CALLENDER AND START SAVING NOW FOR THE TRIP.

OK, GANG! HERE'S THE LATEST DETAILS WORKED OUT SO FAR:
The Association is pleased to announce the 2011 Bancroft Reunion will be held in New London, CT. at the Radisson Hotel on State St. just up from the train station. The dates are posted above in red.
HOTEL INFORMATION;
We have negotiated a room rate of $ 116.00/night which is way below the normal rate of $149/night. Our rate of $116/night includes all taxes, a daily continental breakfast anf that rate is good for 3 nights before and 3 nights after the reunion dates. We have booked 40 rooms, 1/2 with king size beds and 1/2 with double beds. The hotel will give married couples first shot at the king size beds and hold the doubles for our single guests.
To reserve a room, call 1-800-333-3333. Tell them the dates you will be needing the rooms, how many in your party and mention that you are with the George Bancroft Reunion . Ask for a confirmation number by e-mail or snail mail if you prefer. For questions or special requests, call Lisa Kasprzak, Sales Manager at 1-860-443-7000, extension 7811.
REGISTRATION:
The cost per person for the entire reunion (barbecue, banquet & all functions) has not been finalized yet but will be soon. Once we get the agenda and the meal menu head count and other costs set, we will set the registration fee. We normally shoot for $100 or less per person. When we know what the fee is, everyone will get the word by e-mail along with a registration form that can be printed out from the website. Try to get registered ASAP.
SCHEDULE (THIS SCHEDULE IS TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
THURSDAY, JUNE 16: REGISTRATION AND A 2 HOUR WELCOME RECEPTION, 6:00 PM TO 8:00 PM
FRIDAY, JUNE 17: REGISTRATION AND A LATE AFTERNOON BARBECUE PICNIC ( LIKE WE HAD IN SAN DIEGO)
SATURDAY, JUNE 18: ACTIVITIES TO BE ANNOUNCED DURING THE DAY AND IN THE EVENING, OUR PLATED DINNER BANQUET, GUEST SPEAKER, DANCING AND OTHER FUN STUFF
SUNDAY, JUNE 19: FINAL MORNING GATHERING FOR SEA STORIES AND ADIOS, ETC.
HOSPITALITY ROOM:
We will have a hospitality room set up during the entire reunion, all 4 days. Refreshments will be provided as in the past.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
A memorial service for departed crewmembers (the tolling of the bell) and the BI-ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING will be scheduled during the day on Friday and Saturday. The times are yet to be set.
All events will be on a handout that will be provided when you register.
The Radisson will provide free transportation to the Indian Casino in Uncasville only. Nowhere else.
WE NEED HELP!!
The Association is asking for volunteers to form committees for such tasks as Tour planning, Transportation, Entertainment, Refreshments, etc.

Our first reunion was in MYSTIC in 2001 and we had around 170 people there. we want to break that record at this reunion. respond early and let us know if you plan to be there. WE NEED A HEAD COUNT ASAP! The majority of costa are based on head count: the more heads, the lower the cost. We are about a year away so we have plenty of time to get this together, but let us know ASAP
