COMMANDER'S CORNER

FELLOW SHIPMATES:

I look forward to serving as your George Bancroft Association Commander for the next two years and I want to welcome Mike Flammia as our new Vice Commander. I want to also thank Albert Powell for taking the lead in organizing the San Diego reunion and to everyone else that helped make this a very successful reunion. We all had great fun and we certainly enjoyed the fine weather that Al ordered up for that weekend.

Speaking of reunions, our next reunion will be held in the Groton/Mystic, Connecticut area in the spring of 2011. The exact month and dates are yet to be determined. Fred Thompson has volunteered to be the reunion coordinator for that one and he will probably need volunteers to help him as we get closer to the date. Our goal is to top the record for attendees that we had back in 2001, in Mystic, where we had 160 attendees!
